The programme, which attracted in excess of 200 people, included free tennis, five-a-side football and crazy golf, train rides and a concert by the Nottingham Concert Band and the Ibstock Brick Brass Band.

Visitors were also encouraged to take a look at three new ‘interpretation boards,’ recently installed in Egerton Lodge Memorial Garden, to remember fallen servicemen.

The week culminated with the star attraction a teddy bears’ picnic, for youngsters, in Wilton Park on Friday, supported by Melton Police.

The afternoon also included a bouncy castle, get the football past the goalie game, egg and spoon races , sack races, mums’ and dads’ races and poster colouring competition.
