Syston town/park warden Maree Hodgson has been congratulated after receiving a highly commended award at the Charnwood Council’s recent ‘Don’t Muck Around Awards’.

The awards are named after the council’s Don’t Muck Around environmental campaign which focuses on fly-tipping, littering and dog fouling.

The highly commended award recognises Maree’s outstanding contribution to improving and protecting the environment in Charnwood.

A Syston Town Council spokesman said: “Maree’s passion and commitment to keeping the streets and parks of Syston clean, tidy and healthy is an inspiration to others and captures the essence of what the ‘Don’t Muck Around Awards’ hope to achieve.”
