Busy year for friends of park

THE Friends of Melton Country Park held its annual general meeting this month to discuss its work towards the preservation of the park.

The team of volunteers have installed a staggering 70 small bird boxes, four hedgehog boxes and a barn owl box this year, donated by Jeld Wen Stairs and Windows Manfucator in Snow Hill.

Over 400 trees were planted in March after being supplied by the Melton Lions and they have also completed lots of path and shrub clearing.
