An inspector has rated a village primary school ‘outstanding’ and praised its high standards in all areas.

The Diocese of Leicester Board of Education carried out the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMs) at Scalford Primary School.

Inspector Brenda Davies praised the school’s ‘exciting and engaging curriculum’ which had ‘a noticeable impact on their consistently high standards of attendance, behaviour, attitudes and progress’.

School headteacher Marie Waring and school governor Canon Rev Beverley Stark said they were both ‘extemely proud’ of the school and Mrs Waring added: “We are an amazing team which works very closely with the church and community and we feel incredibly proud that our endeavours have been recognised.”
