John Ferneley College today celebrated another bumper crop of GCSE results with a record breaking number of top grades.

Headteacher Christine Stansfield said: “These are absolutely outstanding results, which are likely to put us at the top of the performance tables again.

“They are a real testament to the journey the college is on. Each year, our expectations go up and each year our students and staff deliver. More importantly, this is about students leaving us with choices – about giving them maximum life chances – which is such a great thing for the town.

“I couldn’t be more proud of our whole community and really do need to thank our staff, parents and students for their commitment to the college vision.”

Of particular note were performances by Aliyah Williams-Ridgway, who achieved 10 A*s, Molly Krzeczkowski, who achieved six A*s and four As, and Will Robinson, who achieved two A*s, one distinction * and eight As.

The right results for Will Robinson.
