Excited youngsters in reception from the school visited Pizza Express as part of their current topic on food.

Pupils donned chef’s hats and aprons and crafted their own classic pizza. Each child tasted a variety of toppings used at the restaurant and learnt about the origin of the ingredients.

The school’s year ones have also been learning about food from Italy this term.

They discovered what pasta is made from and enjoyed an afternoon outside cooking it.

Mrs Karina Hazeldine, the Forest school leader, said: “The children had a fantastic time. They really enjoyed watching the pasta cook and especially eating it!”
