A dedicated primary school teacher has called time on a career spanning three decades.

Anne Jeal, assistant headteacher at The Grove, taught several generations of Melton families.

Pupils and staff paid tribute to Mrs Jeal on her retirement day during an end of year school assembly on Friday.

An understandably emotional Mrs Jeal said: “I am really sad to be leaving the school after all this time. I have loved every minute but am looking forward to my retirement.

“I received lots of cards and presents. Both staff and pupils have been fantastic.”

Mrs Jeal spent most of her time teaching Years Five and Six but gave up her time to all.

Headteacher Mike Owen said: “She leaves behind a very huge void the school now has to fill. She was a fantastic asset to the school and had a wealth of experience and knowledge.”

The school would like to thank Mrs Jeal for all her hard work, particularly the time, energy and patience she invested in the pupils.
