Children at The Oasis Family Centre in Nottingham Street have celebrated Easter by hatching 11 chicks.

Twelve eggs arrived at the nursery in Melton in March, where the children kept them warm in an incubator before they hatched.

The chicks were provided by The Happy Chick Company and kept the children company in the classroom for two weeks.

Centre manager Victoria Conyers said: “The children absolutely loved it and found it fascinating.

“It was a great way for pre-schoolers to learn about the life cycle.”
