By donating their presents Meltonians will be helping to fund the specialist care the hospice provides to more than 360 children and young people across the East Midlands, including those from Leicestershire. Rainbows also supports over 300 bereaved families and more than 600 siblings.

Karen Bilsby, head of retail for Rainbows shops, said: “We’re grateful for people’s unwanted gifts. Donating presents helps you make space in your cupboards and helps us raise money. You’ll be happy knowing instead of gathering dust at the back of a drawer your unwanted gift is helping a local child and their family.”

Donating clothes worth £10 could help fund two days’ of oxygen for a child, £25 could help fund the cost of one week’s play materials and clothes worth £50 could go towards one day of care for a child or young person.
