A Dogs Trust rehoming centre in Wymeswold, which has waved off 2,247 dogs of all shapes, sizes and ages to their new homes since its opening, is celebrating its third birthday.

The celebrations for the centre, which opened in June 2012, will culminate next month a a second annual fun day which will not only raise pounds for homeless hounds but also be a great day out for all the family.

Running from 11am to 4pm on Sunday, July 26 the fun day will offer attractions and activities including a fun dog show, craft stalls, raffles, kids’ zone, refreshments and lots more. Entry will be £2 per adult, £1 for under 12s and four-legged friends go free.

Ella Tonge, Dogs Trust Loughborough supporter relations officer, said: “To have seen so many dogs head off to their new homes is amazing. Many of them even come back to see us regularly, particularly at our summer fun day. We can’t wait to help even more families find their ‘pawfect’ friend.”
