Police are still hunting a man who threatened a Melton petrol station worker with a knife and ordered them to empty the till.

The raider, whose face was covered by a dark-coloured scarf, fled empty handed when the alarm was sounded.

The incident happened at the Brobot station on Thorpe Road at about 9.15pm on Saturday, October 31.

The staff member wasn’t hurt.

Police have issued CCTV footage of the suspect who is white, slim and about 5ft 8ins tall. He was wearing industrial type gloves, silver-rimmed Aviator-style glasses with reflective lenses, a black Parker-style coat with a tatty looking fur-edged hood and a distinctive emblem on the front.

The suspect was seen loitering outside before entering the petrol station.

A Leicestershire Police spokesman said: “We hope someone may have seen the suspect hanging around outside, knows who was responsible or recognises the description of the coat.”

Call police on 101.
