The following local cases were dealt with by magistrates sitting in Loughborough on April 13 and 15:

Aaron Broster (26), of Horse Field View, Melton, was found guilty of assaulting a man at Myst Lodge in Nottingham Road, Melton, on September 3. Broster, who denied the charge, was fined £250, ordered to pay a £25 victim surcharge and £100 costs.

Shaun Allen (32), of Dorothy Avenue, Melton, pleaded guilty to possessing 3.2g of cocaine and a quantity of cannabis in Melton on March 15. Allen was fined £260, ordered to pay a £26 victim surcharge and £85 costs. Magistrate ordered for the drugs to be forfeited and destroyed.

James Bowes (37), of Rudbeck Avenue, Melton, pleaded guilty to using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour towards a man in Melton on March 14. Bowes was fined £150, ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Tiffany Sole (27), of Kings Road, Melton, pleaded guilty to stealing £48.90 of items from the town’s Boots store on August 21. She was given a £70 fine, ordered to pay £48.90 compensation, a £20 victim surcharge and £40 costs.
