Police have charged a man in connection with a burglary at Asfordby Pre-school.

The 22-year-old is due to appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court on June 3.

The pre-school children and staff were left gutted following a burglary last month.

But their spirits were lifted when two outraged parents, Janette and Bruce Green, of Asfordby Art Framing Services, decided to donate £160.

And now, following an article in the Melton Times, another kind-hearted business has come to their aid following the theft of their hard-earned funds.

Pre-school manager Kim Price said: “Following the newspaper’s coverage of our break-in we have received a further donation of £160 from Witham Garage Ltd.”

Their letter, to all the children, said: ‘Sorry to hear about your recent theft and a big well done for working hard to raise the money. Here is a little more to help from all at Witham Garage.”

Kim added: “Words cannot describe how truly grateful we are to Witham Garage to receive this very kind and generous donation.”
