Council pledges to support the deaf

A pledge to improve information for deaf people has been signed by Leicestershire County Council - the first shire authority to do so. The county council has signed up to the British Sign Language charter, a commitment to work with the British Deaf Association to consult deaf people regularly and to give them better access to information and services.
