“With the growing popularity of the canoe race in years gone by we really want to build on the event year on year and raise money for local causes such as the 4th Melton Mowbray Scout Group who provide the canoes for the event.”
Entry into the canoe race, which is aimed at local social clubs and sports teams, is £10 per team of four. The closing date for entries is Monday, July 4
The racing will start at 11am on Sunday, July 10, with registration open from 10am. Canoes and life jackets are provided but teams are asked to bring their own food and drink for a family picnic.
