Campaign in Melton will get people fit and active for £1 or for free

A variety of budget busting activities aiming to get more people fit are taking place in Melton until Sunday.

The week called Move More 4 Less, organised by Leicester-Shire and Rutland Sport, will allow people to try new activities for only £1 or for free in a bid to encourage regular participation in sport or physical activity. Activities include:

Tuesday, January 20

l Health checks will run at Melton Library, from 10am-1pm. Free for families.

l Forever fit will run at Waterfield Leisure Centre, Melton, (age 50+), at 11.45am-12.45pm. Cost is £1.

l Ultimate frisbee will run at Wilton Park Band Stand, Melton, from 2-3pm. Free for families.

l Wheelchair Basketball will run at King Edward Sports Centre, Melton, (age14+), from 5-6pm for free.

Wednesday, January 21

l Beginners health walk will run at Melton Country Park, at 10.30am. Free for families.

l New age kurling will run at Gloucester House, Melton, from 11.30am-12.30pm. Cost is £1.

l Dodgeball will run at John Ferneley College, Melton, (age 14+), from 3.30pm-4.30pm for free.

l Swim 4 everyone will run at Waterfield Leisure Centre, Melton, from 6-7pm. Cost is £1.

Thursday, January 22

l Body attack classes will run at Waterfield Leisure Centre, Melton, (age 16+), from noon-12.45pm. Cost is £1.

l A senior health walk will run at Melton Country Park, (age 50+), at 1.30pm for free.

l Balanceability will run at Terminal 1 Skate Park, Melton, (age 2-8), at 3.30pm-5pm. Cost is £1.

Friday, January 23

l Group cycling express will run at Waterfield Leisure Centre, Melton, (age 16+), from noon-12.30pm. Cost is £1.

l Table tennis at Gloucester House, Melton, (age 50+), from 1-2pm. Cost is £1.

Saturday, January 24

l Park run will run at Melton Country Park, at 9am. Free for families.

l Foot fusion will run at Melton Country Park, (age 14+), at 10am for free.

Sunday, January 25

l Story hunt. ‘Giraffe’s Can’t Dance’ will run at Wilton Park, Melton, from 11am-1pm. Free for families.

Various activities will also be running all week for free for children up to five, at the All Sure Start Children Centres.
