There was a real buzz in the air at this year’s Melton Times Business Awards ceremony held at Scalford Hall.

About 160 guests attended our gala dinner and black tie presentation night, with finalists, guests and sponsors enjoying a drinks reception and three-course meal before the ‘best of the best’ were crowned in 13 categories.

The blue riband Business of the Year award went to family-run Town and Country Petfoods, of Melton, a national petfood supplier which has been operating for more than 40 years, steadily increasing its turnover.

Eye Kettleby Lakes scooped two awards, the Green Achievement and Best Overnight Experience accolades, and there were plenty of inspiring success stories across the other categories including the Best New Business winners RS Bridal Collection and People Development Award champions the Beverley Robinson School of Nails and Beauty who said the best thing they’d done was move to Melton.

Mystery diners and judges had a difficult task picking out winners in many categories, such was the very high standard of finalists, but it was family-run Italian restaurant La Torre which picked up another of the coveted awards - Best Eating Experience.

Congratulations go to all of our awards winners and finalists and the sponsors and supporters of yet another wonderful celebration of business excellence in the Melton borough.

Our apologies go to Lucy Flint Design, a worthy finalist in our Best New Business category, who we missed off our script on the presentation night.
