William Woolhouse, 16, has been taken on as a carpentry and joinery apprentice, working on The Millstones site in Queniborough.

He will learn on the job and gain hands-on experience.

William, who is studying for an NVQ Level 2 in site joinery at Leicester College, said: “I chose to do an apprenticeship as I was really interested in joinery at school. I wanted to get into the world of work as soon as I could so I could learn more about it whilst gaining experience.

“I chose David Wilson Homes because I knew it is one of the biggest companies in the country with a great reputation and that it looks after its apprentices really well.”
