Local employers and businesses looking to take on staff are being invited to attend the fifth job fair to be hosted by Melton Council.
The event will be held at the council’s Parkside offices, Station Approach, Burton Street, on Thursday, September 4, 9.30am to 1pm.
The job fair will offer local employers the chance to exhibit and promote vacancies and work placements, as well as giving free advice on apprenticeships and grant training. Employers will also be offered advice on training and recruitment, with interviews booked on the day to reduce recruitment costs.
Nearly 400 people attended the August 2013 job fair and the council is expecting another big turnout.
Malise Graham, the council’s lead member for entrepreneurship and skills, said, “We’ve organised and hosted several job fairs over the last couple of years. If you’re looking for a job or wish to discuss employment concerns please come along on September 4 to get constructive help and advice.”
Town centre manager Shelagh Core added: “This is a great chance to meet potential local employees, recruitment and training providers, supporting local people to get local jobs. Employers have given positive feedback at previous job fairs, with numerous employment outcomes, proving it’s beneficial to residents and employers”.
