New store to open its doors on Saturday
A NEW convenience store employing 15 people will open its doors on a Melton housing estate on Saturday.
One Stop, which is part of the Tesco group, will stock a range of food, alcohol and soft drinks on its premises in Grange Drive.
A special opening ceremony will be carried out at 10am, where there will be an appearance by Conk the Clown, who will be doing some balloon modelling, pocket magic and juggling.
A cheque for £200 will be presented to Peter and Joan Smith, of Melton and Rutland Multiple Sclerosis Society before they cut a ribbon to officially declare the shop open to the public.
One Stop store manager Linda Measures said: “We’re all very excited about welcoming customers here.
“We hope they will join us here on Saturday to celebrate the launch of their new One Stop.”
The store, which is occupying the premises which previously housed the Supamac Mini Market and Bargain Booze convenience store, will be open from 6am until 11pm, seven days a week.
