Melton’s The Welby pub will re-open its doors tomorrow (Friday, September 25) after undergoing a makeover.
Work on the Hungry Horse pub on Nottingham Road was completed in just over two weeks. The biggest change is the addition of a new large ultra HD projector screen to the bar area.
Fresh paintwork inside and out has given the pub a bold new look, while the layout has been altered to give clearer definition between the bar and restaurant areas.
The Welby also has new furniture on the garden patio and two new booths with their own TVs inside the restaurant area, ideal for parents wanting to keep children amused with their favourite programme while they enjoy their meals.
Customers can see all the changes when the pub reopens at 8am tomorrow, with a coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support from 9am to 11am. As part of a day of fundraising there will also be a race night held from 8.30pm, with races shown on the brand new large screen.
Pub manager Sam Thorpe said: “The place looks a lot brighter and bolder than before and the new big screen is definitely going to be a hit with our customers.
“The coffee morning and race night are great ways for people to come in and see the changes and help to raise money for a really good cause, so I hope everyone comes down to show their support.”
On Saturday (September 26) The Welby will be hosting live music from Keith Lovell from 9pm. For more information visit www.facebook.com/welbyhungryhorse or call (01664) 567490.
