WiseGuys, which is opening in Cheapside, next to Dorothy Perkins, will provide formal and casual menswear catering for customers aged 30 plus. It will also offer a wedding hire service.

It will become the company’s third branch, with the others in Sleaford and Newark, and managing the store will be Steve Gamble, a familiar face who used to be the manager of Greenwoods Menswear for seven years in the town centre until it closed earlier this year.

Steve, who has been involved in the menswear business in Melton since 1978, said there was also a vacancy for a part-time sales assistant.

WiseGuys owner Mike Willis said: “This is the right time to promote my business within Melton due to the expansion of the town.”

Also opening soon will be a Millington Travel branch, occupying the unit next to Thorntons on South Parade. The independent travel agent is currently recruiting staff. The Melton Times has tried to contact the company to find out more, including its opening date, but no-one was available for comment at the time of going to press.

In Windsor Street it’s a case of one in and one out. A new barbers is opening in the unit formerly occupied by the Chalkboard Cafe which recently closed.
