An entrepreneur is hoping to bridge a gap in the market by opening an English bistro in Melton.
Louise Bushell of Miss B’s Tea Rooms, in Market Place, has decided to expand by running a bistro from her premises every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, from 7pm.
The bistro won’t open till November 7 but Louise’s reputation precedes her and she is already getting booked up for the first two months, especially for her set three-course Christmas menu.
She said: “I’ve wanted to branch out and set up a bistro for a couple of years now, but never felt it was the right time until now.
“I think there is a market for an English restaurant in Melton. I’m really looking forward to a new challenge and my customers have been telling me how excited they are about it too.”
Louise will continue to run the tea rooms in the day but her business’ name will change to Miss B’s Tea Rooms and Bistro.
For the past few months she has been busy whipping up a range of hearty, home-made meals in her kitchen, which include some family recipes passed down through the generations, and has taken on a chef called Sharon Bull, who previously worked in the Armed Forces, to help her cook.
Her menu will change on a monthly basis and much of her produce will be sourced from local suppliers.
