Terry Woodward had built up a thriving electric fencing firm at his workshop, off Ironstone Lane in Holwell.

But an electrical fault caused a huge fire to start and three fire crews to attend the scene after multiple calls from the public.

Firefighters spent an hour battling the fire as Mr Woodward raced back from a job.

“I am looking into my insurance to see what is covered but we are probably looking at a value of £50,000 to £55,000,” said Mr Woodward, who is pictured in the charred remains of his former business HQ.

“I am still trading but everything I own for the business is now in the van I am working out of.”

Mr Woodward, who has supplied fencing to sub-stations, plants and other customers for nine years, hopes eventually to set up a replacement workshop.
