A well-used village hall is to benefit from improved community facilities thanks to a £10,000 Biffa Award grant.
Burton Lazars Village Hall, near Melton, has secured the grant which will be used to renovate the toilets which were in desperate need of modernisation and to be able to continue to cater to the needs of the local community.
Ian Pengelly, chairman of the village hall management committee, said: “We’re delighted to have been awarded this grant from Biffa Award to refurbish our toilets. This will help us continue the long-term project to maintain Burton Lazars Village Hall as a welcoming venue for our busy client base.”
The project will also involve installing additional equipment including baby changing facilities, hand dryers, improved lighting and new flooring.
