Members of Melton Mowbray Rotary Club recently donated a cheque to the Derbyshire Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance.

A cheque for £2,341 was presented to charity representative John Nowell by Rotary club president Richard Abbott.

The funds had been raised from a successful September Ball held at Scalford Hall.

The ball was jointly held with the Aurora Rotary Club who raised an equivalent amount for the air ambulance.

The total profit raised from the ball was £9634, the balance of which will be distributed by the clubs to local charities which are supported by the clubs.
