THURSDAY 1PM: A nailbiting night for So You Think You Can Dance finalist Charlie Bruce saw her win through the first of the BBC1 show's live public votes on Saturday.
The talented Melton-born-and-bred dancer and show partner Swedish hip hop dancer Tommy Franzen performed a hip hop routine in a bid to win over judges Nigel Lythgoe, Arlene Phillips, Louise Redknapp and guest judge choreographer Sisco Gomez.
But more importantly Charlie was hoping to impress the viewing public who had the voting power to keep her in the competition.
The 19-year-old former Sherard Primary School pupil is now among 12 finalists all hoping to win the show and the prize of £100,000 plus a once-in-a-lifetime chance to dance in Hollywood on the US version of the programme.
Charlie and Tommy's impressive 'bench' routine and own performances received some good comments from the judges.
Head judge Nigel Lythgoe said it was 'one of his favourite routines of the night' and Louise Redknapp in particular was impressed with Charlie's performance.
See Charlie perform in the second round on Saturday, BBC1, 6.30pm.
