Bikers, bladers and boarders from afar as Leicester and Grantham came to the town on Tuesday for a competition organised by Melton Skaters and funded by Melton Council.
Organiser Duncan Greene (19), who helped get the skatepark built in Play Close Park, said: "It was a great success and the standard of the competition was really good. There were some really big tricks pulled. They were all so good it was impossible to pick out anyone in particular."
And the event got the Mayoral seal of approval from Pam Posnett.
She said: "I think they're brilliant. I've worked closely with Melton Skaters in raising funds so it's great to see so many people turn up.
People have worked so hard to make this competition a success."
The day, which kicked off with a free skate at noon, saw Tribe Enterprise entertain hundreds of enthusiasts and run the competition.
Music provided a party atmosphere with spectators enjoying some spectacular stunts throughout the afternoon.
And there were competitions for every category as well as expert skaters to provide tips for the novice.
But if rollerblading failed to impress there was a climbing wall to keep all ages entertained.
The day was so successful it is hoped to repeat it next year with plans in the pipeline to hold another this summer.
Duncan said: "There are always people down here using the ramps and it gets really busy. We want to try and make it a regular event and plan on holding another competition in June."
