THURSDAY 10AM: An extreme sports day for teddy bears in Scalford proved a novel fundraiser for St Egelwin's Church's Back to the Future Appeal.
The bears parachuted from the top of the church tower and wore themselves out, along with their owners, on a bear agility course.
Other activities included a bear fancy dress competition and treasure hunt.
Sarah Goodwin, one of the organisers, said: "The winning bear in the jump event took an impressive 43 seconds to float down to the ground thanks to his bubble wrap parachute with the wind only adding to the enteratinment."
A barbecue, cakes and teas were available throughout the day before trophies were handed out to the winners of the events and certificates were presented to all entrants and their bears.
A little over £1,000 was raised for the appeal which aims to renovate the interior of the church for the whole community and the local school.
