The service has been running from King Street for two years but has long been looking for its own base. Now final preparations are being made before the charity makes the move into its new cabin in St Mary's Way car park.
An official opening cerem
ony is planned for June 11 with dignitaries including Mayor of Melton Mal Sheldon set to attend.
The cabin is the result of 12 months' hard work by volunteers. Leicestershire county and Rutland Primary Care Trust, Midlands Co-op, Welland Transport and Accessibility Fund and Melton Council have all contributed towards the new cabin.
Currently a tenant in the historic no 5 King Street building, owned by Melton Council, the scheme has been providing mobility scooter and wheelchair hire since 2006.
Melton Shopmobility administrator Sarah Kirk said: "It's going to be nice having our own office and storage. The cabin is next to the bus stops as well so people can come straight across to us."
It's also hoped the move will resolve existing parking problems, which have included people who have stopped off for only a few minutes to collect wheelchairs being ticketed for parking in the no loading zone.
"Blue badge holders can now park in St Mary's car park for free. This makes a huge difference and should resolve a lot of problems.
"We're also having an area marked out behind the cabin. We will need that car parking space to be able to access the cabin but it could have a double purpose for clients if needed."
A Melton Council spokesman confirmed parking for blue badge holders was now free in council owned car parks as long as badges were clearly displayed.
