SATURDAY 5PM: A Melton Times reporter who followed shoe boxes filled with gifts on their emotional journey to Romania has thanked organisers.
Ben Truslove spent three days in the former Soviet-bloc country to discover the story of the Rotary presents kindly donated by readers.
He said: "It was an amazing experience and very heartwarming.
"I would like to thank Melton's two Rotary Clubs for help towards costs, particularly Pam Posnett who arranged the funds.
"But my biggest thanks goes to the Rotary Club Iasi 2000, in particular Liviu Statache, and everybody I met in Romania for making me feel so welcome."
Transport costs for the trip were met by Johnston Press.
