Charnwood Council's licensing sub-committee revoked The Corner House's licence following an application for a review made by the Leicestershire police.
Councillors made their decision after hearing it was the second review of the premises licence
in just over six months, and that the previous review decision, which was to remove the then designated premises supervisor, had failed to achieve an improvement in the pub's management.
Police had raised concerns about allegations of drug taking and sales in the pub along with one occasion when under-age sales of alcohol had taken place within the premises.
Officers also raised concerns about the level of violence and the presence of under 18s at the premises, and the absence of the new designated premises supervisor who was installed after the previous review.
John Coen, the solicitor acting for Punch Taverns, the premises licence holder, told the hearing that Punch Taverns had acted positively in relation to these premises by encouraging the tenant to relinquish the tenancy early.
The sub-committee felt the management of the pub by Punch Taverns was inadequate and that Punch Taverns had failed to control the activity at the premises adequately.
