FRIDAY 10AM: Tackling anti-social behaviour, under-age drinking and speeding in Syston will be the key priorities for police during the next six months.
New neighbourhood priorities for Charnwood Local Policing Unit (LPU) were recently announced in a neighbourhood police newsletter.

It said although anti-social behaviour in the area of Wreake Valley Community College had reduced, with fewer report
s of problems, it would continue to be a beat priority.

The newsletter added: "Anti-social behaviour on the Central Park and Town Square areas has been tackled. We've issued summonses for drugs offences and given dispersal notices and verbal warnings to a number of young people.

"This remains a beat priority and targeted patrolling by colleagues to assist us has been approved for the next couple of months. Problems on the Deville Park area have reduced with regular patrols and intervention work.

"A new beat priority will be to reduce speeding along the Melton Road and Fosse Way."

New priorities have also been announced for the neighbourhood beat covering East Goscote, Queniborough, Thrussington, Rearsby, Ratcliffe on the Wreake, Barkby, Beeby, Barkby Thorpe and South Croxton.

They include reducing speeding in Queniborough, agencies working together to tackle anti-social behaviour around Merchants Common in East Goscote and to reduce the impact of 'car cruisers' and anti-social behaviour at The Warren in East Goscote.

A priority for the beat covering the wolds villages, including Wymeswold, is to reduce speeding along the A6006 through Wymeswold and continue to monitor anti-social behaviour at Wymeswold Primary School on Brook Street.
