FRIDAY 8.30AM: The concession for the cafe at Melton Country Park visitors' centre will be up for grabs from July.
Melton Council is offering the cafe, which is full equipped, and the adjoining meeting room on a three-year lease.

The cafe is currently run by Sue Gowans and a band of volunteers as a Fair Trade outlet.

Mrs Gowans said: "It was always my intention to build it up and pass it on a year later and that is what I am doing. We have established it as a Fair Trade and craft cafe, revived the Boxing Day and May Day traditions and worked with various community groups.

"We're planning a midsummer party to round things off and hope someone will take things on from here."

  • Interested parties should call Gail Booth at Melton Council on (01664) 502379 for further details.
