WEDNESDAY 11AM: Children, staff and parents at Early Years Nursery School in Norman Way are celebrating after Ofsted inspectors rated its provision as outstanding.
The nursery school, which has 123 children on roll, only relocated to its current home from Gloucester House and The Mall in January, making the achievement all the more remarkable.
Ofsted said staff were well trained and enthusiastic and had up-to-date knowledge of each child's individual needs, helping them to learn and make excellent progress.
The report also praised the leadership and management of owner Joy Timmins, who said: "On behalf of all my staff I am absolutely delighted to be awarded this recognition.
"It's the best judgement you can ever receive and it feels fantastic to be outstanding."
Early Years Nursery is to install a new outdoor play area and will be running a summer playscheme from July 20 to August 21.
