They were presented with five options with 53 per cent of pupils and 49 per cent of parents voting for blazer and tie either throughout the school or in Years 10 and 11. Pupils currently wear red sweatshirts.
Headteacher Chris Robinson said: "We
are listening to what pupils and parents are saying but the final decision will rest with the school governors.
"One thing we are mindful of is what the other Melton schools are doing. I think it is important we agree on a way forward because, post-14, pupils will be able to access courses at any of the sites. I don't think it would work if some are in sweatshirts and others are wearing blazer and tie.
"It will be up to the executive group and governors of the post-16 centre to decide what it will do as it will have its own culture and ethos.
"My personal view is I wouldn't have a uniform post-16 as we are preparing students for university and independence, but I would insist on a certain standard of dress.
"One thing I do know is if we can sort out uniforms, often a divisive and contentious issue, then the partnership can sort out everything."
