WEDNESDAY 1PM: Melton is to feature on BBC Radio 4's The Food Programme on Sunday at 12.30pm.
Presenter Sheila Dillon visited the town last Tuesday to explore the issue of protected status for the Melton Mowbray Pork Pie.

But, according to her host Matthew O'Callaghan, chairman of Melton Food Partnership, she left with much more food for thought.

He said: "We gave her the full tour visiting Clawson Dairy, Bouverie Lodge Bison Farm at Nether Broughton, the cattle market, street market and Dickinson and Morris.

"She was amazed to see what we are doing here for all our local producers and at how busy the market was. It should make for a good listen and once again Melton is making the news at a national level."
