THURSDAY 10AM: The annual Dance for Rosie May raised a record £2,500 for the fund set up in memory of the Bottesford schoolgirl.
More than 80 talented dancers took part in the competition at Belvoir High School on Sunday.

It was judged by Charlotte Gorton and Richard Reynard from the West End who praised the high standard, and the top 16 dancers each won a place in the Rosie May Academy which gives aspiring young dancers the opportunity to be taught by London professionals.

A presentation was given by Rosie May's parents, Mary and Graham Storrie, who have just returned from Sri Lanka where they have been working with staff and volunteers at the Rosie May Home and the pre school which cares for 100 Tsunami children.

Mary and Graham said: "It was an amazing day, even though it was a competition the atmosphere was very friendly with all the dancers helping each other out. It was a perfect way to celebrate Rosie May's short life through her passion of dance and we would like to thank everyone involved.

"The money raised will go directly to the Rosie May Home which will take the first five Tsunami orphans in June."
