THURSDAY 9AM: Police in Melton are appealing for witnesses to the following incidents:
*A house in Robin Crescent, Melton, was burgled between 10pm on June 23 and 9am on June 24. The burglars entered via an insecure patio door. They stole a £100 Playstation, £100 cash, £10 black leather bag, £5 velcro pink and turquoise purse, cash car
d, £20 of make-up items and £50 of food. They also stole a red and blue Apollo men's mountain bike from the garden shed.

*Vandals caused £600 damage after smashing a window at Ladbrokes in High Street, Melton, between 9.30pm on June 23 and 8.30am on June 24. A metal tarpaulin clip from a market stall was thrown at the window causing damage to the outer pane.

*Burglars attempted to break into a shed at the back of Mercury News in Sherrard Street, Melton, between 6.30pm on June 24 and 3.15am on June 25. They tried to force a padlock off the door but nothing was taken.

*A front number plate was taken off a Renault Laguna, registration X154 LCE, which was parked in Melton's Twin Lakes car park between 2pm and 5pm on June 29. To deter thieves stealing number plates and to avoid potential repercussions motorists are advised to replace screws with tamper-proof ones.
