FRIDAY 6PM: A community pull together event will be held in Melton next Sunday (July 12) in aid of the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance and Macmillan Cancer support.
The event will be held in Play Close park from 10am-4pm. There will be a tug of war competition, local strong man demonstration, lots of fun games for all ages, food and refreshments plus lots more.
Entries are welcome for the tug of war. It will be a maximum of eight people per team and entry fee will be £8 per team, with all proceeds going to charity.
Mixed gender teams can be entered into the following age categories which are 11-14s, 15-16s, 17-20s and 21 plus. Team registration will be from 10am-11am. For more information or to register a team call Ken Snow on (01664) 566988 or e-mail kennethsnow@ntlworld.com
