WEDNESDAY 2PM: An angry mob of youths gathered on a Melton estate when they mistook the actions of an innocent man after he made a citizen's arrest.
On Bank Holiday Monday a 15-year-old damaged a fence on Hawthorne Drive when he was 'free-running' across Fairmead.

The victim then found him and took him back in his car to show what the teenager had done was wrong but his friends' mistook the resident's actions.

Sgt Lee Morris said: "Some youths afterwards thought something else was going on. With everyone's consent, both the victim and the alleged offender, we agreed a course of action that won't end up in the courts."

Police were using new restorative justice which mean if both sides agree to it, and the perpetrator sees what they have done is wrong and apologises, the incident will not got to court.
