THURSDAY 10.30AM: An ambulance called out to attend an emergency in the town centre was held up again – but the problem with the bollards is improving.
Daphne Reed (73) fell, dislocating her shoulder and breaking her arm and needed an ambulance on Tuesday, but it was delayed in High Street.
Daughter Fiona Gray said: "It took the ambulance a while to get through. Then when it was leaving it got hooked on a market stall. It could have been worse, but there has got to be a better way."
Thankfully the paramedic knew the Melton Times has a key and could get out of Nottingham Street.
The county council, Melton Council and East Midlands Ambulance Service are to hold a meeting on Wednesday to finally sort out the issue of the bollards.
