The first to be laid to rest by about 150 mourners was Chris Worrad (18), whose funeral was held in Leicester yesterday.
A statement was released by his family. It read: "It has been eleven days since Chris was tragically taken from us and we're a
ll still struggling to come to terms with our loss.
"He was just 18-years-old - full of life and energy with everything still to live for.
"Chris doted on his two younger brothers – Scott and Harry and little sister Elise and would do anything for them.
"There are many precious memories that we have of Chris. One lasting memory for his Mum and Dad was his fascination for finding out how things worked. This meant him taking things apart and rebuilding them – although they never usually worked again.
"The whole family has been touched by the kindness and support shown by family and friends and have been heartened by the messages of sympathy that have been posted on memorial sites.
"We would like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to the emergency services who dealt with the incident.
"It must be remembered that Chris' wasn't the only life lost that night and our hearts go out to the other families that have been affected by this tragedy."
The six friends, all from Leicester, were returning from the Lincolnshire coast when the black Ford Mondeo they were travelling in collided with a 38-tonne Christian Salvesen lorry.
A report into the accident is expected to be brought before Melton Highways Forum at the Samworth Centre on Thursday (6pm).
