Music is a popular subject at Long Field High School – as head of music Liz Christensen will testify, and when we announced our Musicmakers competition pupils fell over themselves to enter.
In all four different entries were submitted, reflecting the depth and breadth of musical talent to be found in the Melton school.

The Beetroot Boys, a Year 8 and Year 9 rock band with Dom Potts on bass, Louis Middleton on vocals, Liam Brealey on rhythm guitar, Oli Anderson on drums and Jasper Topham on lead guitar.

They performed the Chuck Berry classic Johnny B Goode.
