Music is a popular subject at Long Field High School – as head of music Liz Christensen will testify, and when we announced our Musicmakers competition pupils fell over themselves to enter.
In all four different entries were submitted, reflecting the depth and breadth of musical talent to be found in the Melton school.
The Long Field Jazz Band were next – Jasper Topham on lead guitar, Liam Brearley and Jacob Duce on rhythm guitar, Dom Potts on bass, Dan Edson on drums, Stephen Tatlow on piano, Bess Batstone on flute and Charlotte McPeake on violin – performing Cannon Rock based on Pachebel's Cannon in D.
