Former Leicester Tigers, England and British Lions legend Austin Healey was star of the show at Gaddesby Primary School's Fun in the Field event.
In addition to some coaching tips the day also featured stalls, barbecue, bouncy castle and field games, attracting about 700 people.

Austin said: "I'm here to try to help raise as much money as possible and to see what natural talent we have in the area. Leicestershire as a county produces good rugby talent, it's in everyone's blood. Local kids all want to play for the Tigers."

Parent governor and event organiser Nicki Lygo added the day raised about £3,500 towards the cost of a new perimeter fence.

She added: "The day went brilliantly overall, although we would have liked a bit more sunshine. There were a lot of happy faces and the old fete favourites went down well."
