THURSDAY 10.30AM: Welcome to the fifth Melton Times Sports awards, the finals of which will be held on Wednesday, July 2 at Brooksby Hall.
We are ringing the changes this year.
There are more categories – including a Junior Sports Personality of the Year award – and we are introducing a panel of judges who will decide on the three finalists and ultimate winners of each catgory.
Only in the Blue Riband events – Sports Personality and Junior Sports Personality – will readers be able to vote for the person of their choice by coupon, text or via our website at www.meltontimes.co.uk
However, we need your help, all you have to do, using the coupon on the right or by downloading one from our website, is nominate someone you think deserves an award, or a team you think ought to be rewarded for their season's achievements.
You can nominate as many people as you like but photocopies will not be accepted.
From next Thursday we will be listing the nominations we receive in each category. Closing date is Tuesday, May 6 at 10am.
The judging panel will be meeting to decide the three finalists on June 12 or 13 and voting for the two sports personality awards will begin on June 19 and end at 10am on June 24.
