AN annual open art exhibition which attracted nearly 100 new and returning artists from across the region has been hailed a huge success.

The Upper Broughton Art Show, now in its 30th year, featured nearly 450 works of art and drew more than 1,000 visitors over the weekend of October 12 to 14.

Anne Copley, one of the organisers, said: “The preview evening on the Friday was extremely busy and the atmosphere was incredible.

“Weekend visitors to the show had the chance to vote for their favourite artwork and this year’s winner of our cup was Jackie Farmer for her piece called Forget Me Not.”

Proceeds from the show will go towards the upkeep of the village hall. For more visit www.upperbroughtonartshow.org.uk
