CHILDREN joined a visiting jester to enjoy some Tudor games at Melton Carnegie Museum this week.

They tried their hand at games of Merrellles, Knucklebones, Fox and Geese and Tudor marbles at four play sessions on Tuesday.

The activities were put on for half-term and to compliment the museum’s fascinating new exhibition exploring the story of sport in medieval England.

The free exhibition, entitled A Bit of Rough and Tumble, looks at everything from jousting tournaments to early forms of ball games and runs until April 13.
