Faeries have a ball to support charity
Faeries at The Faery Ball
PERA Conference Centre was transformed into an enchanted Faery Ball to raise money for charity Coping with Cancer.
The event, organised by Lesley Morgan of Far Fetched in King Street, was back for a fourth year on Saturday as an alternative to Halloween and was attended by about 160 people dressed in magical and elaborate costumes to represent faeries and woodland creatures.
The mystical night, based not only on the theme of faeries this year but also fire, included music from Endless Knot, Loscoe State Opera and live entertainment from Bill Brookman Productions in Loughborough, which held fire breathing demonstrations.
It’s estimated that about £800 was raised for Leicestershire and Rutland charity, Coping with Cancer.
Lesley said: “It was a brilliant evening, not only did we have some great entertainment but also had about 10 market traders, both local and from across the county, selling their goods, which included home-made candles, fairy artwork, jewellery and ethnic crafts.”
